Established officially in 1992, we have our roots in 1988, the second night on campus Freshman year at college. Raeyna and I were introduced at the Illinois Wesleyan University “welcome dance” by our new acquaintance, Erin Edlund. That night, I told my roommate at the time and best friend, Duffy (Ron) Sieling, that I had met the girl I was going to marry. We started dating two weeks later, and the rest is history. I was irresistible (as are, I'm pretty sure, all Star Trek fans/IT nerds).

We moved to Minnesota after graduating from college so Raeyna could attend the University of Minnesota vet school. We loved MN and stayed. Over time, various species have been counted among our numbers.

• 4 cats - Toilet Kitten/Curly, Crinkle, Crunchy, and Trouble
  (RIP: Jessica, JIP, Abigail, Caliente, Moby)

• 2 humans - Shane, and Raeyna (Jordan and Michael are now “expatriated”)

• 1 dog - Bubbles
  (RIP: Eli, Sammy, Tuba, Worf, Percy)

• 2 snakes - Rodney Dangernoodle, another I can’t remember.

• Many aquatic creatures - the names of which I do know

• 1 horse - Willow (has her own place)

We negotiated a cap on non-human membership. Epic fail.
